The Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce has been serving businesses in the heart of Palm Beach County for over four decades. Our goal is to continuously improve the business climate and safeguard the economy by facilitating and assisting business expansion, preventing out-bound relocation and increasing opportunities for growth of high wage jobs. We accomplish this through programs focused on advocacy, economic development, events and direct services to our members. Along with small and medium business enterprises our focus will be on the top employer sectors: Agribusiness, Healthcare, Equestrian, IT/Telecommunications, Business/Financial Services, Manufacturing, and Aerospace/Aviation/Engineering.

Palm Beach County was created in 1909. It was named for its first settled community, Palm Beach. The County was carved out of what was then the northern portion of Dade County, comprising part of the areas now occupied by Okeechobee and Broward counties, part of Martin and all of Palm Beach county, initially including all of Lake Okeechobee. The southernmost part of Palm Beach County was separated to create the northern portion of Broward County in 1915, the northwestern portion became part of Okeechobee County 1917 and southern Martin County was created from northernmost Palm Beach County in 1925
The Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce is a private, membership-driven organization comprising business enterprises, civic organizations, educational institutions, and individuals. Through the Chamber you have access to the most powerful, successful, and influential people in the area. The Chamber covers an area comprising over a third of Palm Beach County impacting over a third of the County’s population.

Agriculture is a core component of Palm Beach County’s economy. 36% of the county’s land mass, 456,001 acres is dedicated to agriculture. According to Palm Beach County Cooperative Extension Service, Palm Beach County’s estimated $1.38 billion in total agricultural sales for 2014-15 leads the State of Florida and all counties east of the Mississippi River, and is one of the ten largest county agricultural industries in the United States.
Palm Beach County leads the nation in the production of sugarcane, fresh sweet corn, and sweet bell peppers. Palm Beach County residents and visitors have access to some of the nation’s best healthcare. The equestrian industry is one of Palm Beach County’s most signature economic sectors. No other place in the world can claim to have the highest concentration of sport horses in the world – some 7,000 during the polo and equestrian season.
The Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC), located in Wellington, is considered the most recognizable equestrian sporting venue in America. The Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) held at the PBIEC is the largest and longest-running circuit in horse sport, a 12-week show jumping competition for hunters, jumpers, and equitation held annually from January through April.

Palm Beach County’s Aviation/Aerospace/Engineering industry began with a series of small airstrips that became a World War II military installation and evolved into an international hub for commercial air travel and cargo, air defense projects, and high-tech manufacturing. The industry boomed in the 1990’s when based aircraft and rocket-engine company Pratt & Whitney restructured and dozens of A/A/E companies moved to the county to capitalize on its available workers.
